About Us

Mr. William H. Smith is President of Clean Energy Associates, LLC., a consulting firm specializing in electric power system reliability and  the measurement and verification of energy conservation, efficiency and output of environmentally clean sources of electric power. 

Prior to founding Clean Energy Associates, Mr. Smith worked fourteen years at Florida Power and Light Company serving as Director of Power System Planning and later as Director of Power System Engineering. He also worked at an electric power consulting firm before founding Powersmiths International, Inc. in 1997 and later Clean Energy Associates.


Mr. Smith served in the USAF from 1973-1976 where he was responsible for designing and installing instrumentation systems to capture data from explosive simulations.


Mr. Smith is a registered professional engineer who has worked in the energy industry for more than 40 years. He specializes in performing independent energy assessments for the growing renewables markets.
